What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the current moment. It involves paying attention to one’s thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment.

How Does it Benefit Children?

Mindfulness can improve a student’s focus and concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase their self-awareness and emotional regulation.

Throughout student participation in mindful activities and mediations, young people will be taught the necessary skills to respond to challenging situations in a calm and thoughtful manner.

Leading to better decision-making, overall well-being, and a safer environment.

What will pupils do?

An Exciting Start To a Journey of Mental Health Development & Awareness.

Students will learn to utilize mindfulness as an effective strategy for managing their mental health. Through regular practice, they will develop greater awareness and focus, leading to overall improvement in their mental well-being.

Classroom-based mental well-being resources can be provided to the class teacher, allowing students to continue practicing mental health techniques in their own time and in the classroom.

Students will also engage in various breathing exercises, integrated with exciting and tranquil physical movements based on nature and animals.

These exercises are designed to address a range of emotions, such as anger, fatigue, or over-excitement. By learning these techniques, children can re-enter the present moment at any time, allowing for clearer thoughts and smarter decisions.
